Holiday Oatmeal Cookie Mix makes homemade gift making and giving easy. Gifts from your kitchen are a heartfelt way to share the joy this holiday season and this homemade oatmeal cookie mix is a perfect hostess gift, a delicious gift for neighbors, a thoughtful addition to a gift card to a coffee shop for your postal worker, or maybe just what you had in mind to give to a special teacher at school.
I like to bake a batch of the white chocolate and dried cranberry oatmeal cookies , a recipe from the Whole Foods website, to give along with the cookie mix. That way the recipient can make a fresh batch of cookies easily at home when the cookies I made (quickly!) disappear! I really like the combination of the sweet white chocolate chips with the tart cranberries; if you prefer the standard oatmeal and raisin variation this is a great recipe for that favorite too.
The mix is easy to make. Start with a clean, one quart mason jar. Make a funnel with some parchment paper; this trick really streamlines the process. Layer your ingredients– flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, along with brown sugar, dried cranberries, oats, and white chocolate chips, then close the top, and tie with a festive bow. Whole Foods has made this gift even sweeter with this printable gift tag. The tag lists the ingredients that need to be added to the mix and directions for baking are included. Simply print the tag to attach to your cookie mix.
Happy Gifting!
